The Story Behind Wayne's Music
Annual vacations to enjoy the geology of Yellowstone National Park inspired the first set of compositions. The next set was inspired by a very memorable trip -- racing to observe the sunrise at Delicate Arch in Arches National Monument (Utah). Lastly, the Utah series of pieces resulted from a great deal of reading, then planned visits to many places in my home state, Utah.
As time passes, I'm inclined to sit down to the MIDI keyboard and let my feelings ramble and dictate what will emerge from this assemblage of wonderful musical equipment.
Indeed, we live at a great time!
If one artist today inspired much of this music, credit has to go to Ray Lynch. I listen spellbound to his creative and sensitive handling of voice and music.
Cassette, Compact Disc, or Mini disc copies can be obtained by e-mailing Wayne Simister.
Yellowstone Compositions:
Yes, go out on your own and experience Yellowstone's deep wood's many mysteries and wonders off the beaten path.
A noisey and frightening sight is the fumarole. Many are found in all parts of Yellowstone!
Frogs are hard to spot, but seeing one makes the day.
Utah Compositions .... Arches National Monument, Zions Canyon, and other Utah sites:
Utah is dotted with ancient volcanos ... some more recent than others. All tell a history of Utah's past.
Hiking around the campground is fun. Your feet stick like glue to the red sandstone hills.
Scalding hot Baker Hot Springs lie nearby. The last remnants of a volcano which to this day still steams on cold days, thus the name, Fumarole Butte.
One feature in Arches National Monument resembles marching men. Imagine them imperfectly marching along.
Gossipping rocks? Well, in Arches National Monument there are the "Three Gossips!"
Near Alpine, Utah one finds Timpanoogas Cave. One of my ancestors was the first parties to explore this cave.
Near the large Berylium mine lies Topaz Mountain. The mountain is open to all to freely come find the gem stones. They are all over!
Picture yourself wading up a shallow stream flowing between two closely spaced very high vertical walls in Zion Canyon. This is Zion Narrows!
Utah is desert country! Hear the wind mysteriously whisk the sand into fresh new, smooth salmon colored dunes.
Utah has many agricultural areas where the wind moves the grain fields in graceful waves.
Popular for camping and exploration -- Utah's High Uintahs contain Utah's highest peak, Kings Peak.
Strange forms spook the imagination in Utah's Goblin Valley!
Kodachrome describes the Utah location of Kodachrome Flats --- color shouts out for the photographer.
Wonderful and inspiring --- overlooking the Arches wonderland.
Indians once uses this excellent source --- a large mountain of sandstone made up of many colors.
This piece inspired by visits to Arches National Monument, Utah.
The small town of Escalante, Utah.
Isolated from populations centers, west of the Great Salt Lake lies Gold Hill. This is a great place for Utah mineral collecting.
One of Arches National Monument bizarre features is Devil's Garden!
Miscellaneous music compositions:
A very short but bright piece -- can also be used for DVD menu music.
A short relaxing piece -- can also be used for DVD menu music.
